Five back-to-back earthquakes since Monday have killed over 15,000 people and left tens of thousands injured in Turkey and Syria.
Officials and medics said 12,391 people had died in Turkey and 2,992 in Syria from Monda’s 7.8-magnitude tremor, bringing the confirmed total to 15,383.
Rescuers raced to save survivors trapped under debris in freezing weather.
Meanwhile, the Turkish president on Tuesday declared a “state of emergency” in 10 worst-hit provinces for the next 3 months.
