I explained to the media personally, I am sure that this will help working cooperation within the Parliament - Shalva Papuashvili

Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia explains on what basis he made the decision to establish regulations for journalists.

“These regulations are based on best practice. As for accreditations, the Parliament building is not a public space - it is an institution where relevant permission is required for media activities.

This is the case in all parliaments. This accreditation itself implies a code of conduct. I address you, the opposition MPs - there are two principles, two benefits: one is the interest of the public to have information about the activities of the Parliament.

The second thing is that the deputies in the Parliament of Georgia, the employees of the office should have an appropriate working environment. These are two equally important interests and it is in these interests that this regulation was adopted.

This is done especially for you, so that there is a working atmosphere, and on the other hand, the media has the opportunity to get the information that the public needs. I explained to the media personally. I am sure that this will help working cooperation within the Parliament and ensure a working atmosphere”, - said Shalva Papuashvili.
