Kyiv asked Tbilisi to hand over the “Buk” missile systems, which were given to Georgia by Ukraine during the 2008 war - Andrii Kasianov

Kyiv asked Tbilisi to hand over the Buk missile systems, which were given to Georgia by Ukraine during the 2008 war, reads an article by the Ukrainian Chargé d"Affaires in Georgia, Andrii Kasianov, published in the “European Pravda”.

“The Ukrainian side is consistent in supplying weapons, military equipment and ammunition to all international partners, including Georgia. In particular, Kyiv asked for the transfer of the Buk missiles, which Ukraine gave Georgia during the 2008 war.

Ukraine’s request included the Javelin systems transferred by the US to Georgia, and regarding the latter, there was not only consent from the US, but even a proposal to replace them with new complexes.

Despite the fact that the Government of Georgia has categorically refused military aid, Ukraine is against using this issue in internal political disputes and denies any accusation of trying to drag Georgia into a war with the Russian Federation”, - says Kasianov.
