About 1,200 drugs to become gradually cheaper from January 1. The relevant statement made today the Deputy Minister of Health, Ilia Ghudushauri.
“The Ministry sets an upper price limit for medicines as part of the freshly-introduced reference pricing.
I expect a 40% price cut for the pharmaceuticals chosen for the first round, it is a big drop. Additionally, the list of medications will progressively grow.
At this stage, the regulation has an impact on about 50 medicines, which in total include about 1,200 different products on the market, with the majority of them being oncological and chronic illness medications”, - added the Deputy Minister of Health.
