The Prime Minister of Georgia said that Lithuania and Estonia’s decision regarding sanctions was a “simple provocation” executed by the 2 Baltic states.
His comment came in response to the decision by the Governments of Estonia and Lithuania to impose sanctions on approximately 20 Georgian officials, including the Head of the Government.
“This was a simple provocation carried out by the Governments of two Baltic states, which is deeply regrettable. As you know, the Georgian people have a special relationship with both Lithuanians and Estonians, and on this backdrop, it is particularly unfortunate that such provocations are orchestrated by the leadership of these two countries. Georgia would not respond to provocations and would maintain a pragmatic approach to any such decisions… It is generally unacceptable for two states to act not in the interest of their own people, but based on external directives”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
