The Speaker of the Parliament responds to the preliminary report released by the OSCE/ODIHR monitoring mission, extending his gratitude for their assessment.
“Today’s report focuses on the past two weeks, particularly the election day, and presents OSCE/ODIHR’s main conclusions on the election itself. This provides clarity and addresses any questions raised by some opposition representatives, who questioned the election’s legitimacy.
The recent election served as a referendum, where the Georgian people made a fundamental decision in favour of Georgia’s peaceful progress. Through this referendum, the Georgian people delivered their verdict, supporting Georgia’s peaceful development - ensuring its prosperity, moving towards Europe with peace, dignity, and prosperity.
The ongoing procedures in the election commission, including final vote counting and addressing complaints, are expected to conclude by mid-November, when the CEC would issue the final report. According to the Constitution, the new Parliament session will convene within 10 days following the announcement of the official results”, - said Shalva Papuashvili.
