The Ministry of Internal Affairs, as the agency responsible for the rule of law and security, ensures the protection of public safety and the freedom of expression of each individual during gatherings and demonstrations, as long as it does not exceed the permitted boundaries envisioned by the law.
Law enforcers are mobilized in vicinities of Shota Rustaveli Tbilisi International Airport to ensure the rule of law and security. Herewith, due to security concerns, only those citizens will be allowed in the airport’s arrivals hall who are employed in the building or need airport services.
The police ensures protection of the right to peaceful assembly and demonstration as provided by the Georgian constitution.
In accordance with Article 9, Part I, Sub-paragraph “B” of the Law of Georgia “On Assemblies and Demonstrations”, it is prohibited to hold a gathering or demonstration inside the airport buildings and in the areas located within a twenty-meter radius from their entrances.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs calls on the organizers and participants of the rally to express their protest in the permitted territory, to observe the law and order and follow the legal requests of the law enforcement officers.
During the protest, each act of violation will be immediately foiled by police.
