Dekanoidze and Gotsiridze said that majority did not allow them to register political group

Opposition MPs Khatia Dekanoidze and Roman Gotsiridze said today that the parliamentary majority did not allow them to register political group.

“Mr. Roman and I were not allowed to register a new political group, which means that they are afraid of another political group in the Parliament, which would have additional leverages.

Their explanation was that those of us who left the unified list have no way to create a political group. I will remind my colleagues that there are similar precedents in the Parliament, the deputies who left our bloc have created a political group, and this is another real example of their unwillingness to strengthen the opposition in the Parliament.

You know, Roman Gotsiridze and I came up with an initiative to create a political group called Eurooptimists, and we will use all the levers, including the initiative to change the record they are clinging to, which actually means nothing. The repressive mechanisms that were put in place against the opposition have been activated against our political group”, - said Khatia Dekanoidze.

“They want us to be a weak opposition in the Parliament, we don’t have the right to express our opinion on any bill for more than 3 minutes. They adopted the regulations specifically for the People’s Power, for the Putinist wing”, - added Roman Gotsiridze.
