Not a single citizen of Georgia has seen a single piece of evidence that accompanied the US decision, so for me this decision raises a big question mark - Prime Minister

Not a single citizen of our country has seen a single piece of evidence that accompanied the US decision, so for me this decision raises a big question mark. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia after the meeting with the chairperson and members of the Supreme Council of Justice.

“As the head of the Government and representative of the ruling team, I express my full support to all judges. During our rule, the court has become independent and free from any interference - both domestic and foreign.

Of course, any interference or any influence on the judges is unacceptable. This is absolutely unacceptable for me, especially for a sovereign court and judges of a sovereign country. I also assured the judges of our full support.

We will do our best to protect the independence of the judiciary, freedom from any interference and pressure, this is our stated policy and the main goal we strive for. In the last 10 years, we have carried out fundamental reforms in the court in order to make the court what it is today - independent, free from any interference.

I am proud of our court, I am proud of all the judges, they are highly qualified professionals who serve our country, serve to strengthen our country, protect our sovereignty and national policy”, - said Irakli Garibashvili.
