Special equipment for extinguishing forest fires was given to the Department of Fire and Rescue Forces

The Emergency Situations Management Agency of the Kingdom of Denmark has given special equipment of the latest model to the Emergency Situations Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The equipment handover ceremony was held at the base of the Special Situations Response Headquarters. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs - Ioseb Chelidze, Head of the Emergency Situations Management Service - Teimuraz Mgebrishvili and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Denmark to Georgia - Ane Toft Sorensen, who inspected the special equipment and got to know its features personally.

The equipment was delivered to the Department of Fire and Rescue Forces within the framework of cooperation between the Emergency Situations Management Agency of the Kingdom of Denmark and the Emergency Situations Management Service of Georgia in the format of the NATO-Georgia Essential Package.

Total delivered: “ROSENBAUER” brand, latest, high-performance 14 water pumps, 20 units of 10-ton water tank, angle cutters, chainsaws and other special tools. The project, the cost of which is 500,000 euros, will make a significant contribution to the process of re-equipment of the fire-rescue forces.

The event was also attended by the head of the Fire and Rescue Forces Department of the Emergency Situations Management Service - Davit Sukhishvili, the Deputy leader of the core group of the NATO-Georgia essential package - Colonel Marian Dorkan and the leader of the crisis management initiative of the NATO-Georgia essential package - Colonel Susan Christensen.

At the end of the event, the guests toured the base of the main division of response to special situations of the fire-rescue forces department and visited the training center of the emergency management service.

The Emergency Situations Management Service actively continues to supply personnel with new equipment, special uniforms and vehicles.
