The Head of the Special Investigation Service, Koka Katsitadze, and his first deputy Giorgi Kvaratskhelia held the meeting with Răzvan Rotundu the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Georgia.
During the introductory meeting, the parties discussed issues of bilateral relations and aspects of future cooperation.
The Head of the Special Investigation Service introduced the functions and increased mandate on the investigation of the facts of violation of the Convention on the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms or its additional protocol, established by the European Court of Human Rights. Koka Kasitadze also presented implemented and ongoing reforms to the diplomat.
At the meeting, the future tight cooperation and the active involvement of the Embassy of Romania in sharing the European experience of independent investigative mechanisms were discussed.
Koka Katsitadze thanked the Ambassador for the fruitful discussion and readiness for future cooperation along with best wishes in his honorable mission.
