Badri Esebua, who was accused of the robbery of Georgia Bank branch in Zugdidi, has been detained.
He was detained in Zugdidi a few hours ago. According to reports, Esebua was arrested when he was trying to move to occupied Abkhazia.
On October 21, 2020, armed Badri Essebua broke into the building of Bank of Georgia in Zugdidi. He took more than 40 citizens hostage and demanded USD 500 000 and security guarantees in exchange for their release. After receiving the money, the attacker managed to escape.
