The chain traffic accident occurred in the morning hours on the Van-Erciş highway, where dense fog and ice were effective. According to initial reports, 2 people died and 15 people were injured.

Upon notification, health, gendarmerie, police, fire and highway teams were dispatched to the region.

During the teams’ intervention, a second chain traffic accident occurred in the Erciş- Van direction at a point close to the accident site. According to the existing information, traffic accidents involved approximately 30 vehicles, and the road was closed.
