The Helsinki Commission [HC] is a party and none of its statements have value. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.
“The HC is a party. He was directly involved in the election campaign in favor of the opposition, which is an unheard of and incomprehensible event. Since it is a party, of course, none of the statements of the HC have much value anyway. I want to remind you of the statement of the HC - it threatened that discrediting information about the ruling party would be published before the elections, but you see that nothing was published.
The Georgian Dream works so cleanly in all directions, in the end, no such materials could be placed. However, that threat by itself is unheard of and absolutely incomprehensible”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
The HC issued a statement regarding the October 26 parliamentary elections. As they said, “in the days following the Georgian parliamentary elections, Georgian civil society, politicians and observers presented clear evidence that the election results do not reflect the will of the Georgian people”.
