Georgian Finance Minister and his Hungarian counterpart discussed the project for the Black Sea submarine cable, an international initiative to create a new transmission route to deliver green energy from the South Caucasus to Europe.
“This project would open access to additional export markets for Georgia and the surrounding region. The project has extremely important role for energy security of the European Union… Our agencies have traditionally maintained a very close relationship, and our discussions included both current and future projects”, - said Lasha Khutsishvili after the meeting.
He also expressed gratitude for Hungary’s support of Georgia’s European integration efforts.
In his turn, Mihály Varga affirmed his Government’s commitment to continuing “active cooperation” with Georgia.
