Representatives of the Ministry of Interior of Spain visited ”112” and the Academy of the MIA

Within the frames of the official visit to Georgia, representatives of the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Spain visited Public Safety Management Center “112” and the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.


Director of Public Safety Management Center, Giorgi Arsoshvili, met with the Director General of the Civil Guard of the Ministry of Interior of Spain Maria Gamez Gamez and discussed the current situation in the field of emergency management in Georgia.


Guests visited the call center and attended the work process of operators and dispatchers. They also received detailed information on important projects implemented in the field of integrated video surveillance system management and traffic safety across the country. Representatives of the Ministry of Interior of Spain also got acquainted with the operation of the electronic monitoring center, in particular, how the 112 center manages to monitor abusers through an electronic bracelet.


Within the framework of the visit, the guests also visited the Academy of the MIA of Georgia. Guests visited the Academy’s Computer Examination Center, Simulation Training Center, Simulated Border Crossing Point, Gym, dormitory and Tactical Training Points.


Representatives of the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Spain visited the new, 50-meter, indoor shooting range of the academy, which is accessible for the vehicles to open fire and equipped with mobile targets, appropriate lighting and security systems. As the representatives of the academy noted, the shooting range, thanks to its scale and capacities, makes the firing and tactical training of the future police officers more effective and allows the academy students obtain shooting skills and thoroughly explore arms, including automatic weapons.
