The State Security Service responds to media reports and notes that the Service has nothing to do with the tragic case of Tamar Bachaliashvili.

“Due to high public interest, we would like to respond to the incorrect information disseminated in the media in relation to possible surveillance over the late T. Bachaliashvili by means of vehicles of the State Security Service.

First of all, on behalf of the Service, we would like to express condolences to the family and relatives of the deceased and state with full responsibility that the State Security Service of Georgia does not have any connection to the aforementioned tragic event.

All incorrect versions disseminated deliberately aim at both discrediting mentioned Service and its worthy officers as well as deceiving public. Politically motivated groups of individuals and particular media outlets stand behind those deceitful versions.

The vehicles of the State Security Service drive on this route on daily basis that is connected to carrying out of duty in a conscientious and distinguished manner.

We call on every interested group to demonstrate high civil responsibility, refrain from disseminating of incorrect information and taking into consideration the society’s interest wait for the results of the investigation, which will definitely shed light to every detail unknown for the society.
