Georgia joins EU sanctions against Russia

Six non-EU countries have joined the European Council"s decision to extend sanctions against Russia over the annexation of Crimea. This was reported by the Council’s press service.

These are the candidate countries for accession to the EU (Montenegro and Albania), members of the European Free Trade Association (Norway and Iceland), as well as Ukraine and Georgia.

The above-mentioned countries will ensure the compliance of their national policies with the European Council’s decision to extend anti-Russian sanctions.

The European Union takes this commitment into account and welcomes it.
