Five-storey apartment building collapses in India, trapping up to 100 people

As many as 100 people are feared trapped in the debris of a five-storey building that collapsed in an industrial town in western India. The building in Mahad, about 165 kilometres south of Mumbai, comprised about 47 flats and housed roughly 200 residents.


At least 30 people have been rescued so far with 17 people injured and no confirmed deaths.

 

The cause of the collapse is yet to be determined.
