Evacuation of population in Lentekhi Municipality may become necessary. As the Lentekhi Municipality Mayor Badri Liparteliani said, the officials have a phone communication with the locals who were cut off from the outside and will provide them with food and medicine if necessary.

5 villages in this municipality - Dura, Esieri, Sakdari, Mutsdi and Tvibi - have been cut off from the outside world as a result of the disaster. The bridges there were swept away by the overflowing rivers Mukhra and Cholshura.

“If the rain continues, it is possible that several locals will be evacuated”, - added Liparteliani.
