U.S. Ambassador to Georgia met with Public Defender Nino Lomjaria. The parties talked about the activities of Ombudsman’s Office, forthcoming parliamentary elections, occupation and other relevant issues.

“The role of Public Defender’s Office is truly important for development and strengthening of democracy. It does wonderful work to supply the public with precise and balanced information, and its role increases especially when there are questions in the court system. Besides, in a country where the judiciary is not always independent, the existence of an Ombudsman’s office is important”, - said Kelly Degnan.
