As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, exposed Turkish citizen on the fact of breach of procedures related to movement of goods across the customs border of Georgia.

Investigation has revealed that the accused person has brought to Georgia particularly large amount of undeclared goods through the customs checkpoint „Sarpi“ using the truck vehicle under his control.

As a result of investigative activities, 1 768 boxes of medications of various names and small amount of industrial purpose goods were seized, customs value of which exceeds GEL 43 000.

Investigation is underway under the second part of article 214 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 5 to 7 years.
