More than 5 000 families of active and retired servicemen will receive the legal deeds to the flats they already inhabit but that are legally owned by the Ministry of Defense.

“The ministry cannot use these flats and cannot reconstruct them. People who live in these flats do not have good living conditions. The new initiative will give them the opportunity to benefit from municipal homeowners’ partnership programmes – to reconstruct roofs, entrances and water supply systems”, - said the Minister of Defense Irakli Garibashvili.

It should be mentioned that ministry owns non-privatised flats in Kutaisi, Batumi, Poti, Khoni, Senaki, Tbilisi.
