Wizz Air flights have been reduced due to COVID-19, however, the reduction does not concern only Georgia and Hungary. Such a statement made today Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Peter Szijjártó at the joint conference with his Georgian counterpart Davit Zalkaliani.

“Wizz Air reduced flights to different countries as well. The Georgian Government has always shown positive attitudes towards Wizz Air actions in Georgia and supported the company. Wizz Air will find its place in the world and its base in Georgia will be a priority. More Hungarian citizens want to visit Georgia. Last year, 7,000 Hungarians entered Georgia”, - said Szijjártó.

As the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia added, Wizz Air does not go anywhere, it stays in Georgia and continues operation.

“Georgia is actively communicating with the representative of the company in order to plan upcoming flights consistently and step by step. This process depends primarily on the epidemiological situation. The recent rumour saying that the Hungarian low-cost airline was planning to close its base at Kutaisi International Airport is nothing but the speculation, which has nothing to do with the real picture”, - said Davit Zalkaliani.
