Lawyer G.Ch. has been arrested for bribery by the employees of the General Inspectorate of the General Prosecutor"s Office of Georgia.
According to the investigation, it was established that the lawyer G.Ch., together with A.L., Senior Inspector-Investigator of the Investigation Department of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, offered the mediator to give 100,000 GEL as a bribe to one of the officials, in exchange for which the defendant under his protection was to be released from the penitentiary institution.
The mediator immediately appealed to the General Inspectorate of the General Prosecutor"s Office of Georgia, where the investigation was launched and appropriate investigative actions were planned and carried out and based on the obtained evidence, the above-mentioned lawyer, who was unmasked of committing a crime, was arrested on the fact of bribery by the employees of the General Inspectorate.
As part of the ongoing investigation into the same criminal case, as well as the fact of bribery, criminal prosecution is underway against A.L., Senior Inspector-Investigator of the Investigation Department of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia and he has been sentenced to imprisonment as a measure of restraint.
The lawyer G.Ch. was charged with the offense punishable under Article 339 §1 of the Criminal Code of Georgia and was sentenced to imprisonments as a measure of constraint. The Prosecutor’s Office has filed a motion with the court to sentence the defendant imprisonment as a measure of restraint.
Tbilisi City Court found Z.B. guilty in the presented charges and sentenced him to 9 years in prison.
The investigation into the criminal case is ongoing.
