The officers of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, along with General Prosecutor’s office, as a result of complex, special operative activities simultaneously held in Tbilisi and Adjara region, detained 6 persons, while 4 individuals have been brought to criminal justice.
On the basis of the court decision the following persons have been taken under arrest: previously convicted A.S. (DoB 1964), V.Ts. (DoB 1976), several times convicted in past I.A. (DoB 1978) previously convicted L.D. (DoB 1982) previously convicted I.Ch. (DoB 1992), B.K. (DoB 1993), while several times convicted in past and currently serving his term of imprisonment - M.M. (DoB 1982) was additionally charged in penitentiary facility.
Within the frames of the ongoing investigation two “Thieves in Law” residing abroad, namely: Jeiran Kintsurashvili (DoB 1977), nicknamed “Khonski” and Tamaz Kartsivadze (DoB 1963) nicknamed “Kusa” as well as member of the “Criminal World”- R.P. (DpB 1983) have been charged in absentia. At this moment respective activities are being implemented to declare the mentioned persons as wanted.
Jeiran Kintsurashvili and Tamaz Kartsivadze are accused of being “Thieves in Law”, while R.P., B.K. I.Ch, L.D, I.A. and M.M. have been charged for membership of the Criminal World, V.Ts. – for contacting criminal world or member of the “Thieves World”, while A.S. for supporting the so called “Thieves World”.
Committed crime envisages from 3 to 15 years of imprisonment.
Investigation established that in February and March of the current year, part of the accused individuals, members of the “Thieves World” got involved in dispute regarding the indebtedness upon the request of the opposing parties. With the aim to solve the disagreement, they contacted Georgian “Thieves in Law” residing abroad, namely Jeiran Kintsurashvili, nicknamed “Jeirana” and Tamaz Kartsivadze, nicknamed “Kusa”. With the support of the mentioned thieves in law, criminal skirmish was organized in the apartment owned by I.A. as a result of which one of the opposing parties was obliged to pay 8 800 EU.
As a result of the search activities law enforcers seized computer software and mobile phones owned by the detainees as evidence, used for contacting each other and Georgian thieves in law residing abroad.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of membership of the “Thieves World” on the fact of being a “Thief in Law” as well as for contacting and supporting the so called “Criminal World”- article 2231 I and II parts, article 2233 II part, article 2234 I part envisaged by the Criminal Code of Georgia.
