Domestic tourism reopens in Georgia from today

Domestic tourism reopens in Georgia from today, June 15. Such decision was announced at the Interagency Coordination Council on May 7.

From today the country opens local tourism services, and from July 1, Georgia will be ready to receive foreign guests. The Government is going to do this by creating a safe corridor on land borders with neighboring countries and creating safe corridors with countries that are of tourist interest to Georgia.

Hotels and accommodation facilities in the country must follow special recommendations. For example, hotels are only allowed to work if they receive a permit after a special inspection.

Georgia’s protected areas will receive visitors in accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Health. Visitors will be able to enter the Akhaltsikhe Fortress and Borjomi Park for free. Vardzia and Uplistsikhe Museum-Reserves will serve visitors at reduced prices for three months.

Internally displaced persons, veterans, children deprived of parental care and socially vulnerable citizens will be admitted to museums and reserves free of charge.
