The Prime Minister of the UK has sent a letter of appreciation to the Georgian counterpart

The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson has sent a letter of appreciation to Georgian counterpart Giorgi Gakharia.

“Dear Prime Minister, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to you for your participation in the Global Vaccine Summit on June 4. The summit was a clear example of international cooperation, within which the public around the world was virtually united to support "Gavi", the Vaccine Alliance.

More than 60 countries participated, and we raised $ 8.8 billion, more than the $ 7.4 billion we aimed to collect. This period is crucial for global health. We have all seen the importance of international solidarity in the fight against COVID-19 and how vulnerable we are to act alone.

We must use the experience gained at the summit to maintain a high level of a global commitment to immunization. Only together will we achieve our collective goals and prevent future waves of mortality and pandemics.

Thank you again for your leadership and contribution to the fight against COVID-19 pandemic along with the international community”, - reads a letter.
