Landslide in Arctic Norway sweeps away 8 homes. The buildings, along with a dog and a caravan, were dragged into the water when a piece of land over half a kilometre in width and 160 metres deep was severed away at around 3.45pm in Alta, Krakneset.
Emergency services attended the scene, with a rescue operation reportedly ending by 7pm. No one has been reported injured so far in the powerful earth movement, although one person was rescued by helicopter and the dog swam to safety.
