Police detained several times convicted in past and currently on probation- M.J. (DoB 1999). Detainee is accused of violence against police officer with the purpose of interfering with the protection of public order and resistance.

Committed crime envisages from 2 to 5 years of imprisonment.

Investigation established that on May 18 of the current year, officers of Kutaisi police division were patrolling the streets to ensure the enforcement of the curfew hours and state emergency regime regulations, when they noticed a citizen - M.J. near the residential building, who violated terms of the imposed restrictions (curfew hours). Police officers gave a verbal warning to the citizen and called for order. After ignoring the warning, I.J. verbally and physically assaulted police officers with the involvement of detainee’s neighbors and family members. Due to the circumstances I.J. managed to escape from the scene. As a result of the incident, police officers have been inflicted a number of body injuries and had to receive appropriate medical assistance.

As a result of search and investigative activities, M.J. was taken under arrest in Kutaisi, based on the respective court decision.

Investigation is in progress on the fact of resistance and violence against police officer with the purpose of interfering with the protection of public order, crime envisaged by the article 353 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
