This was a very bold step, said today the Ambassador of Germany to Georgia Hubert Knirsch, while commenting the pardon of Gigi Ugulava and Irakli Okruashvili.

“Diplomats play the role of mediators in the dialogue process and their mission is to bring the parties together around one table. We welcome the agreement reached. We’ve recently also welcomed President Salome Zourabichvili’s decision to pardon two gentlemen. This was a very bold step. We expect the March 8 agreement to be fully implemented, it is a matter of the responsibility of political parties”, - said Hubert Knirsch.

When asked why the agreement was interpreted in two ways, the Ambassador replied: “If people read the agreement, they will understand it easily. Please review the text again and see all the answers there”.
