The first case of coronavirus infection in Kakheti is not confirmed by the Public Health Center.

According to Gurjaani epidemiologist Marina Kapanadze, medics have examined the contacts of a 33-year-old man infected with COVID-19 in the village of Kardenakhi, but none of them have any suspicious symptoms at this stage.

She added that the man was in the village on March 17 for a grandfather’s funeral. However, this does not prove that the person was infected at that time.
