Government urges citizens to adhere to restrictions, otherwise measures envisaged by law will be utilized

Another session of the Interagency Coordination Council on the coronavirus was held under the leadership of Prime Minister of Georgia.


Issues pertaining to the restrictions imposed as a result of the state of emergency that is in place throughout all of Georgia, including issues related to the enforcement of the quarantine in the municipalities of Marneuli and Bolnisi, were discussed during the session. It was noted that representatives of law enforcement agencies are strictly controlling adherence to the restrictions imposed as a result of the state of emergency, and that relevant measures envisaged by law will be used in case of any violations.


The Government once again urged citizens to adhere to the restrictions imposed as a result of the state of emergency, to remain at home, and to refrain from going out unless there is an emergency. Otherwise, measures envisaged by law will be used in response.


Furthermore, according to the Coordination Council"s decision, the registration deadline for the Unified National and Graduate exams, as well as the Student Grant Competition, will be extended by one month, until 18:00 on 30 April.


It was also noted at today’s session of the Interagency Council that 10 out of 79 patients infected with the coronavirus in Georgia have recovered. The Interagency Council was informed that one of the infected patients is pregnant, however her health status is satisfactory. All patients are receiving appropriate treatment. Currently 4 346 persons are in quarantine and 247 persons are hospitalized under medical observation.
