Special quarantine measures launched in occupied Abkhazia due to coronavirus pandemic

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, quarantine measures have been launched in occupied Abkhazia since today. According to the decision of the de-facto authorities, people without the so-called “Abkhaz citizenship” are not allowed to enter the occupied territory for tourism purposes.


In addition, all types of public transport will be banned, except taxis. The public services of the occupation regime will be transferred to distance work. Mass events are forbidden.


Restrictions will continue in occupied Abkhazia until April 7.


Occupied Tskhinvali regime is also tightening measures because of COVID-19. According to the de-facto security committee, border violators will be taken into quarantine and criminal proceedings will be launched against them.
