Volunteers will deliver parcels to elderly citizens - Memorandum signed between Tbilisi City Hall and Red Cross

Volunteers from the Tbilisi City Hall and the Georgian Red Cross Society will provide food, medications and hygiene products to 2 500 elderly individuals in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Such a statement made the Mayor of Tbilisi Kakha Kaladze.

“These days have shown us once again a strong sense of solidarity from the Georgian society. From now on it is important to use our resources correctly. Business has become very active in recent days… Our duty is to take care of the elderly, as they are at high risk for spreading the virus…

Those elderly individuals, who are in need of help, should call at the City Hall’s hotline 2 72 22 22 and register. 2,500 citizens have already registered. Each volunteer will be properly equipped in order to avoid the virus”, - said Kakha Kaladze.

Those who wish to volunteer should call the City Hall’s hotline 2 722222, or the Red Cross’s hotline 0800 000 018, register as a volunteer and undergo training.
