Turkey announced on Tuesday the country’s first death from coronavirus and reported 51 additional cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number to 98.
“The patient that fell victim to coronavirus is found to have contracted the disease from a China-linked employee,” state-run Anadolu news agency quoted Health Minister Fahrettin Koca as saying.
The patient was an 89-year-old man, the minister said.
Due to the spread of the virus, Turkey has taken emergency measures. The learning process was suspended throughout the country.
