Tbilisi City Hall continues funding of some municipal programs – Kakha Kaladze

According to the Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, around 2 500 teachers, coaches and therapists involved in Tbilisi municipal programs will get salaries.

However, when educational processes resume, those individuals will have to compensate for missed teaching hours. Mayor added that socially vulnerable, high-achieving students, as well as students interested in non-popular specialties will be funded.

“The Tbilisi municipality is working intensively and looking for ways to make things better for the population to prevent the spread of new coronavirus and protect the population from additional risks.

Tbilisi City Hall takes into account the current situation. Not to leave people in these programs and institutions without income in this difficult situation, we will continue funding. But upon completion of this period, teachers must compensate for all the missed hours.

We will provide the salaries of the 2 500 teachers, coaches, and therapists involved in Tbilisi municipal programs, which serve approximately 25 000 children and youth each month during the school year”, - concluded Kakha Kaladze.
