We urge citizens of Georgia to follow the protocol set by the government of Italy – the Foreign Ministry

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia released a statement for the Georgian citizens who are in Italy.

“On March 6, 2020, the Government of Georgia decided to suspend direct flights to Italy. According to the decision of the Government, the state will ensure the transportation of those citizens of Georgia who had a return ticket and planned to return to Georgia within the nearest two weeks but did could not return to Georgia due to cancellation of flights.

We reiterate that this decision does not apply to those Georgian citizens who are permanently residing in Italy, or are on a long-term business trip, or for receiving education and did not plan to return to Georgia within the two weeks after the cancellation of flights.

We urge the citizens of Georgia who remain in Italy to follow the protocol set by the government of Italy, to remain in isolation, to refrain from visiting public places and to comply with established hygiene rules”, - reads the statement.
