The High Council of Justice selected the candidature of judge Nino Kadagidze for the vacant position of the Chairperson of the Supreme Court.

The decision was made by the High Council of Justice at today’s sitting through voting. Kadagidze received 12 votes from council members. The Council will send its nomination to the Parliament of Georgia for discussion. In case of full support from the lawmakers, the candidate will be appointed to the position of the Chairperson of the Supreme Court for 10 years.

Ana Dolidze, non-judge member of the High Council of Justice quit the session in protest, and Nazi Janezashvili did not vote.
