Suspension of flights to Italy is an economically difficult decision. Such a statement made the Minister of Economy Natia Turnava.
“The health of the citizens is a priority and the decision to stop flights with Italy is a justified and timely decision.
Today we decided to temporarily suspend direct flights to Italy because it is included in a group of high-risk countries. Let me tell you, this is a very difficult economic decision, but the safety and health of our citizens is the priority.
It’s important for Georgia’s tourism sector the country to maintain the status of a secure country, including epidemiologically. Therefore, this is a justified and timely decision. I cannot specify how long the restriction of direct flights to Italy will continue”, - concluded Turnava.
